The Central Water Commission has launched this
web site with the main aim of facilitating the process
of making hydrological/hydro-meteorological data
available to the user in an efficient and friendly
manner in the desired format. This web site
contains the information about the
hydrological and hydro-meteorological data
(meta-data) available with the various surface and
ground water agencies in peninsular India. It is proposed
to host on this site the meta-data of the peninsular
regions of CWC, CGWB and 9 peninsular states namely AP,
MP, TN, Orissa, Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka
and Chhattisgarh.
The
classified data pertaining to Ganga Brahmaputra Meghna,
Teesta and Indus Basins is not hosted on this
site.
A data user can view
this site for hydrological information available on the
site, and request for data from the concerned DSC of any
agency by sending a Data Request File (DRF). To request
for data, one is required to be registered with a Login
name and a Password. You are provided with the option of
registering for one DSC of any agency or all DSCs of all
agencies.
Users can
browse the site by using any of the following options
available on the home page:
List-based: Select List
Based from Left panel of Home Page. Here, you can make
selection either by state/district/tahsil or by
basin/major river/local river and by DSC of any agency
for both surface water and ground
water.
Map-based: Select Map
Based from Left panel of Home Page. Here, you can make
selection either by state boundary or by surface water
basin or by ground water basin.
Once
the selection for the parameters and sites is finalised
you can send them to shopping cart for making a
electronic Data Request File (DRF) which is then
e-mailed to all the concerned DSCs pertaining to the
respective agencies.
After
ascertaining your authenticity/eligibility the DRFs
received by the concerned DSC of the respective agency
are processed and a proforma invoice for the same will
be sent to you for making the payment. Once the payment
is made the concerned DSC of the respective agency will
make the data available to you through e-mail/soft
copy/hard copy in the desired
format.
